  • 24 hour Eucharistic Adoration for Life will start on Thursday, October 19 after the 7:45 Mass and end on Friday, October 20 before the 7:45 Mass.

    The Archdiocesan 40 Days for Life will start on September 27 and run through November 5. Please consider giving an hour of your time to pray for an end to abortion and to pray for life from Conception to Natural Death.

  • Beyond Confirmation: new ministry starting to help serve all post Confirmation High School Students

  • There will be a meeting this Sunday afternoon, in the church hall at 12:00 Noon for all high school students who have already been confirmed.
    This new ministry named Beyond Confirmation is being formed to reach out and serve the needs of the teens and young adults who have finished their Confirmation year, and assist them to continue learning and growing in their faith, which refers to issues in their everyday life, and to stay connected to their parish. Upcoming events, discussions, and topics will be planned for this ministry based on input shared at this meeting.
    Please stop down after Mass and share ideas and reunite with some friends from Confirmation class. Adults who would like to help with this endeavor are also welcome. Refreshments will be served.

  • Registration now open for K & Pre-K Sunday School Program

    All children aged 4 & 5 years of age are invited to participate in our Sunday Preschool & Kindergarten Program on Sunday mornings starting October 22nd, 2017 and running through March 25th, 2018 in the parish hall during the 9:30am Mass.
    Children participate in a variety of crafts, stories and free play aimed at introducing them to basic themes of prayers, biblical stories and the wonders of our church.

    The cost is $50.00 per child.

  • St. Margaret’s Women’s Fellowship: Potluck Dinner and Topiary Tree making, November 14 at 6:30pm in the church hall

  • Lead by Cyndi Silengo, owner of La Fleur Florals. All the women are invited. The dinner is free to attend. You are asked to bring either an entree, side dish or a dessert to share. The cost for the topiary tree is $27 for members and $32 for non members. Payment needs to be made by October 25 so supplies can be ordered.   • The Great Bible Adventure Course Continues: Three Courses being offered beginning the Week of September 11th

    This year, there are three Bible courses being offered at St. George and St. Margaret’s. Please click here to view details on each of the courses being offered.
    The Bible is at the heart of our Catholic Faith—and our relationship with God. It is the living Word of God, where our Father meets with us and lovingly speaks to us. Reading the Bible should bring us closer to Christ, but understanding it is not always easy. Many people tell us they have tried time and again to prayerfully read Scripture, but they get frustrated because they “just don’t get it.”

    The Great Adventure is designed so that anyone can make sense of the Bible and experience the life-changing power of God’s Word. At the core of the Great Adventure is the concept that there is a story running through the seventy-three books of the Bible that ties all of Scripture together and makes sense not just of the Bible, but of our lives as well.

    No previous Bible prerequisites are required for these courses; however, it is suggested that these courses are completed in the order listed. We encourage people all with all levels of Bible knowledge to participate in these studies for we see the richness each person adds to the weekly discussions on the readings. We hope to see many of you in each class. Scholarship is available

    Household items are needed for a new mother, who had to leave her home in New Jersey in a rush because she was being pressured into having an abortion, and is staying in a shelter with her baby boy until she can get an apartment. 
    Needed items are furniture, bedding and kitchen supplies.

  • CAREGIVER SPIRITUAL SUPPORT GROUP

    Are you providing care for someone? Have adult children come back home and need help, comfort and support? Are you taking care of an elderly parent, a spouse or a child who needs extra care? Does a relative, friend or neighbor look to you? Do you feel overwhelmed or tired? Do you pray but don’t feel you’re being heard or answered? Come join the Caregiver Group. Come and see you are not alone. Come and pray together with us for spiritual comfort, hope and relief. Meetings are at Saint John Bosco Church (formerly Saint Mary Church) in Branford located at 731 Main Street in the Parish Center on the first Wednesdays of each month from 6:30 – 8:00 PM.   • SMALL CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES

    What is a small Christian Community? It is a group of 8 to 12 people who are committed to meet either weekly or by-weekly to read and discuss the scripture readings for the following weekend. Each group is lead by a facilitator who invites members of the group to read each of the readings and invites them to share what they interpret from each particular reading. Reflections from several sources such as The Word Among Us, the Magnificat, lectors workbook and other publications may be used to help
    understand the readings. It is a way to build
    community and to help all members to grow in their faith.

  • Raffle! Take a Chance – Give a Chance ! Grand Prize 2017 Corvette!

    Sponsored by The Hartford Bishop;s Foundation, Inc. to benefit Catholic Education. The proceeds from this raffle will help Sr. Mary Grace Walsh and her team advance their plans for the recruitment of new students and families for Catholic Schools, professional development of teachers and administrators, salary augmentation through the Seat of Honor Program and act as a springboard for additional funds for students with financial need.
